This counselling program within the local church setting helps achieve three incredible goals for me and my congregation. First, it helps me as a pastor to be a good and useful tool in God’s hands as it encourages me not only to serve people’s souls right, but also to explore my own heart before God. Secondly, it corrects any potential flaws in the theology, redirecting a person from outward thinking to the inward one – just like the wonderful Counsellor Himself taught and practiced. Thirdly, by involving members of the church into education, I, as a pastor, have acquired great potential of like-minded people with whom we speak the same language, understand each other, and serve each other, perfecting our skills. A real, practical sanctification of us and our counselees is taking place.
