Counselling gave me several things. First of all, I found a hope for normal life in faith which I had almost lost. Secondly, the doubts concerning my salvation and spiritual rebirth disappeared (as far as it is possible). Thirdly, I saw how I was sinning trying to get my way and not God’s. I did it all thinking myself a victim who was unjustly hurt (that was the biggest revelation!).
One more thing. When you work with a counsellor and complete home assignments, it disciplines you and makes you reflect, research, and analyze your heart constantly. As a result, you can see that you move forward and grow. It is a powerful medicine that cures spiritual laziness which makes you stop thinking, feel sorry for yourself, and die out.
